Abdul Ilah Farran is the founder of Farran Law Firm and is currently the Chairman and Managing Partner of the Firm. He directs the firm’s strategy and operations.

Abdul Ilah graduated from the prestigious law school at the Saint Joseph University (Beirut) in 1970 with a double major where he obtained both a Bachelor of Laws in Lebanese and French Private Law as well as a Bachelor in Political Sciences. He then founded his law practice known then as “The Law Firm of Abdul Ilah Farran”.

While practicing law and serving clients both locally and internationally, Abdul Ilah also acted a legal counsel for major Lebanese families and was appointed as a board member of several family owned group of companies where he provided his valuable expertise and sound advice.

Believing in the team work while keeping the human size to better serve his clients, Abdul Ilah decided at the late 90s to transform his sole practice into a full-fledged firm and in 1998 Farran Law Firm took its current shape.

Widely respected and reputed for his integrity and ethics, Abdul Ilah was appointed by the President of Beirut Bar Association as the Chair of the lawyers’ disciplinary council for two consecutive mandates.

Abdul Ilah currently leads the firm’s general operation and heads the firm’s litigation department.

Tarek Farran

Managing Partner

Tarek Farran is the managing partner of Farran Law Firm where he supervises the firm’s corporate clients.

Tarek specializes in business and corporate transactions. He uses his expertise in this field to serve clients in Lebanon and the Gulf, as well as several African and European countries. He is skilled in structuring major (telecommunications and other) corporate transactions and participated in the restructuring of existing group of companies (mainly family businesses) while introducing and implementing proper governance. Known for his significant transactional experience, Tarek is regularly retained as an independent legal counsel to clients seeking his assistance in their acquisitions and joint ventures within the GCC and African countries, all in line with international standards but also taking into consideration the local rules and regulations.

Tarek demonstrated a significant expertise in construction law and has acted as a counsel and an arbitrator in numerous (ad hoc, CCIB and ICC) commercial and complex construction disputes. Tarek currently serves as an independent member of the Advisory Board of a reputable Saudi family owned business.

Tarek obtained his LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from the Saint Joseph University (Beirut) and an LLM (Master of Laws) with Commendation in Business and Economic Law (with emphasis on the merger, restructuring and transfer of enterprises) from the University of Rennes 1 (France). His thesis topic was “An analytical review of the statutory rules of joint stock companies’ voting power”. He further obtained in November 2019 an LLM (Master of Laws) with Professional Skills with Commendation in Oil and Gas Law from the University of Aberdeen (UK).

Tarek has been a member of the Beirut Bar Association since 1998 and is an accredited Corporate Director by the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) since February 2021 and in May 2021 Tarek became a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London).

Tarek has been recently engaged by the Beirut Bar Association whereby he was appointed and served as a member of the Jury of the BBA oral exams.

Aline Saadeh is a member of the Beirut Bar Association since 2010, she joined “Farran Law Firm” since then as a trainee lawyer, got promoted to become an associate. Aline is currently a Partner at Farran Law Firm and she heads the corporate department.

Aline specializes in corporate, commercial, and real estate transactions. She advises clients on corporate structuring, governance, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border transactions, in addition to handling complex civil, banking, and employment matters. Her expertise extends to drafting and negotiating a wide range of legal documents and agreements for both Lebanese and international clients.

Balancing between legal theory and practical application, Aline assists companies in developing and optimizing their corporate frameworks in line with international standards while ensuring compliance with applicable Lebanese laws and regulations. She also acts as a trusted legal advisor to companies seeking to strengthen their governance and organizational structures. She represents clients before Lebanese civil courts, particularly in commercial, banking, real estate, and employment disputes.

Aline received her Bachelor in Private Law from the Lebanese University – Filière Francophone de Droit (Beirut, 2008), and a Master’s Degree in Business Law (LL.M.) from the Lebanese American University (2020). She also holds a Certificate in Mergers and Acquisitions from Columbia Business School, and another in Patent Law and Global Public Health jointly offered by Harvard Law School and the WIPO Academy.
